Sunflower Seeds

Sunflower seeds are the fruit of the sunflower plant. Sunflower is a plant belonging to the daisy family and is an important agricultural crop grown for its yellow flowers and inner oil. It is considered one of the most important sources of vegetable oil worldwide and especially in Turkey. It is intensively cultivated in Turkey, especially in the Marmara and Thrace regions.

Sunflower oil ranks first among the preferred vegetable oils for cooking because it is a source of high quality oil. Sunflower seeds contain high quality oil and can be both consumed and used for oil production. These seeds contain many nutrients that are beneficial for the body. In particular, the low saturated fat content, high linoelic acid content and the presence of fat-soluble vitamins such as A, D, E, K, show that sunflower seeds are of great importance for human health.
